Baggage Policy

If you are traveling solely on Thai Smile flight for the whole of your journey, please familiarize yourself with our baggage rules as follows:

I. Checked baggage

Each flight ticket has its own Free Baggage Allowance policy and you may be required to pay for an excess fee if your connecting flight with other airlines has a lower baggage allowance.

** Important notes:

- The sum of length, width, and height of each checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm

- All travel in the area as follows will apply the piece concept: All passengers can bring a maximum of 2 pieces of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kgs/piece.

  1. to or from Canada, USA/US territories
  2. between area 3 and area 1 (not via area 2) except;

           from Russia (Asia) to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America,

           between French Polynesia and South America

The baggage piece concept above is applicable to passengers traveling from Thailand. For other areas/countries, follow the rules stipulated by national carriers concerned.

II. Hand baggage

a. Hand baggage for each passenger is at 7kg and has a maximum length 56cm, width 45 cm, depth 25 cm and the maximum dimensions (the sum of the 3 dimensions of each carry-on item) not exceed 115cm.

b. Passenger can bring the following items free of charge:

- Small handbag/pocket/purse with a maximum length of 37.5 cm x width of 25 cm x depth of 12.5, and the sum of the three dimensions not exceeding 75 cm, with weight not exceeding 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs),

- Computer notebook,

- One overcoat, wrap or blanket,

- One umbrella or walking stick,

- One small camera and/or a pair of binoculars,

- A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight,

- Infant’s food for consumption on flight and/or infant’s carrying basket,

- One fully collapsible wheelchair of an invalid (to be transported as checked baggage but excluded from allowance) and/or a pair of crutches and/or braces or another prosthetic device for any passengers who depend on them,

- Seeing-eye/hearing-aid dog for blind or deaf passengers who are dependent on such a dog,

- Tax free articles (alcoholic beverages and/or tobacco products and/or perfumes/colognes) subject to restrictions of the country concerned.

Note: Passengers are required to place the baggage in the overhead compartment or under their own seat.

IV. Special Baggage

List of Special Baggages as follows. Please note special items are included with your normal checked baggage allowance:

Item Requirement

Maximum dimension 145 x 175 x 110cm.

Bicycle must be collapsible / the tire must be deflated.

Maximum 1 Bicycle per passenger



- One Television must not exceed 1.40 meters (140 cm / 55 inches) length.

- Proper packed in good condition of container/box with inner cushioning for safe transportation.

Golf equipment One set of golf equipment consists of maximum 14 clubs, 12 balls, one set of golf shoes, allow Weight to be included in the allowance
Wakeboard, Kneeboards and board which length less than 158 cm.

- The length less than 158 cm

- Must be packaged in an appropriate bag/case

- Surfboarding which length must not exceed 277 cm for one item.

Fishing Equipment

- The length must not exceed 277 cm for one item defined as one fishing tackle box, one landing net, one pair of fishing boots, 2 reels and 2 rods.

- Must be suitably packed.

E-Cigarette - maximum of 5 e-cigarettes on board per person, but they are not allowed to be used on the aircraft.
 Guitar/ Cello Music instrument

-  must be suitably packed within a hard-shell case

- sum of length, width and height of each checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) &    POC (Portable Oxygen Concentrator) Thai Smile Airways allows passengers to bring CPAP/POC devices in to the cabin but the passenger has to let down water from the CPAP to pass the security check.
Child Restraint System (CRS) Infant Car Seat The approved car seats (Child Restraint System or CRS) must bear a special label
Drone Drones are accepted as carry-on baggage and checked baggage.
 Diving Equipment

It can be included in Allowance: Yes

IV. Items unacceptable as Baggage

You are not allowed to bring in the baggage: Hang gliders; Sails; Kayaks, canoes, and oars; Pole vaults; and Javelins.

V. Right to refuse carriage

The carrier may refuse to carry as Baggage the items described in Article IV, and we may refuse further carriage of any such items upon discovery that it is included in your Baggage. Unless advance arrangements for its carriage have been made with us, we may carry on later flights Baggage, which is in excess of the applicable free allowance. 

The carrier may refuse to accept Baggage as Checked Baggage unless it is properly and securely packed in suitcases and suitable containers to ensure safe carriage with ordinary care in handling.
